Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched operations across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have shot down missiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on areas linked to the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the government.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and shot down a several projectiles," it added.

The statement noted wreckage landed in a neighborhood in the capital, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
