Recent Particulars Come to Light Regarding the Location of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Remains
Fresh particulars have surfaced about the tragic passing of esteemed director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their Los Angeles home home on Sunday.
The Alarm
According to a report quoting a family associate, a therapist arriving for an session first raised the alarm after being unable to gain access the house. This individual then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.
When she went into the residence, Romy found her father's body. Accounts indicate she then fled the house in anguish, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Her roommate who had gone with her promptly called 911. Subsequently, first responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Criminal Proceedings
The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of murder in the first degree, along with the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is now detained without bail.
Disputed Reports
The confidential informant also disputed several earlier details. They said that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the grounds, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that moment.
Furthermore disputed circulated suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "concerned" about Nick's conduct in recent weeks. The source claimed the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This refutation applies to accounts of alleged "unstable" conduct by Nick at a party thrown by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the bodies were found. While the source stated they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they said that suggestions of a "blow-up" between the two were inaccurate.
Investigation Timeline
As stated by law enforcement sources, the coroner had still not confirmed as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some accounts noted the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been dead for some hours.
Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, some 15 miles from the residence. He was set to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
