The newcomer A debut start in an England shirt. A bit loose in possession however his dangerous set-pieces caused problems. An effective game manager for the manager to call upon against sides that sit back. Cautioned for a rash tackle. 6/10

The midfielder Crosses on corner kicks and free kicks were dangerous. Had room to drift down the left flank yet found himself in an offside position upon receiving with a chance to score. Granted a well-earned substitution on the hour mark. 6

The star midfielder Played in a high position on the right while also contributed with defensive duties. Showed flashes of quality but mishit a shot wide. Replaced late on for a teammate, his competition, following a yellow card. 7

Jarrod Bowen Was presented with the team's clearest opportunity before halftime, his strike excellently kept out by the opposing goalkeeper. With a teammate hanging back, he had to provide width down the right side although his balls from wide areas were inconsistent. Substituted with 15 to go. 6

The captain The decisive figure with his seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth goals in an England shirt. The opener a trademark poacher’s finish and his next an excellent headed goal having drifted away off his defender. Aged 32, he continues to improve and England are strong contenders in future competitions with him leading the line. 8/10

Eberechi Eze Had difficulty to influence play on the left flank. Had a good opening when set up from a teammate yet the keeper made the save. Rashford made much more of effect after coming on. 5/10
